LEVEL OF AWARENESS AND COMPLIANCE REGARDING CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN AMONG SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract 

Introduction

Over recent decades, global problems relating to degradation of natural resources and pollution have increased dramatically. India is still lagging far behind many countries in the field of environmental sanitation. In this study investigator has tried to find the environmental awareness among school students.

 Objective

A descriptive study was done to assess the level of awareness and compliance of school students regarding clean India campaign.

Methods

A non-experimental descriptive study with 100 children studying in UCCK Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ayanambakkam were chosen by simple random sampling. Tools such as demographic variables proforma, structured knowledge questionnaire and compliance rating scale were used to collect data.

Results

 The study findings revealed that majority of them (40%) had only moderately adequate knowledge but high level of compliance (98%).

Conclusion

In conclusion we need to take initiative and serious steps to create more awareness among children about global warming, natural disaster and environmental degradation.
